Sea Team Management

SeaTeam, based in Singapore formed in 2009 is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Frontline. They have also set up its presence in Chennai with Capt. G. Ramaswamy as CEO to recruit seafarers from India for the company’s global fleet.

Frontline, the Bermuda based world’s largest tanker company, is the latest global shipping giant to join the race for hiring Indian marine officers by establishing its own presence here. Its role will be to recruit seafarers from India for the company’s global fleet, which totals almost 80 tankers.

SeaTeam will recruit the crew on a contract basis. The company plans to recruit nearly 400 Indian officers to man nearly 40 ships, according to Alasdair Smith, Managing Director, SeaTeam Management Singapore.

Their offices are located at Chennai-India, and at Manila-Philippines.

Since the Start of SeaTeam, the company and staff have collected funds on small scale to support several charitable causes. They supported underprivileged children and assisted in the relief effort after the tsunami in Japan and Typhon Falcon in the Philippines.

The staff of SeaTeam and the company have banded together to provide support for programs that assist the underprivileged in the Philippines and India concentrating on schools and orphanages.

To follow on the good efforts, the company has decided to establish a corporate charity to coordinate relief for the needy neighbors. The Charity, to be known as the “ Hands of SeaTeam (HOST), will allow staff to contribute worthy cause of regional concern. With HOST the company would like to grow their efforts to support various charities by pooling contribution from office and Sea Staff. The floating staff of SeaTeam also donated in joining hands with HOST to uplift the lives of needy and underprivileged. The logic is to make a big difference and also see the results of the donation.

HOST provides long term support covering a substantial proportion of total running cost to the following charities:

  • Precious Heritage Children’s Home for orphans, Manila-Philippines.
  • Gnanodaya School and hostel for leprosy affected families children and underprivileged children from nearby village, Chennai-India.
